Diabetes App
Diabetes App: App Development for all Types of Diabetes
Diabetes app as a medical device
Do you need a diabetes app as a medical device? Then you've come to the right place. We specialize in developing apps for people with diabetes, covering all types: Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, diabetes in children, and diabetes for the visually impaired.
Our software developers created a diabetes app as a medical device more than 15 years ago, which we market under the name SiDiary (www.sidiary.org). Since then, we have expanded our expertise by developing diabetes apps for various clients.
MDR-compliant apps for doctors and patients
We develop diabetes apps in compliance with MDR (Medical Device Regulation) for both doctors and patients. These apps help doctors work more efficiently and precisely while making life easier for patients with diabetes.
Our developers have extensive experience in the development of diabetes management apps in accordance with medical device classes I, IIa, IIb and III.
Our customer groups who have such diabetes management software programmed include medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, clinics and doctors.
Offer for the development of a diabetes app
Are you interested in developing a diabetes app, possibly as a digital health application (German DiGA)? We offer free consultations and can provide you with a quote. Our offer for diabetes management software includes the following phases.
Together with you, we look at what is technically possible and how your idea can best be realised. You will receive a cost estimate, a schedule and conceptual feedback based on our experience in programming diabetes apps.
We create the design concept according to your requirements. As we develop apps and software in an agile way, the designs can be constantly adapted during development, e.g. based on new patient requirements or market insights. Versions for Windows PC, iPhone/iPad, Android, iOS and web applications are possible Integrating interfaces with medical devices (e.g., insulin pumps, CGM systems) is one of our specialties.
In an agile process, we develop diabetes management software for you that is ready for use in real life. You regularly receive interim versions of the application so that you can. provide feedback during the development. Finished versions undergo thorough testing by our software testers. Once the app performs flawlessly, it is ready for release.
Of course, we take care of maintenance and support after the release of your diabetes app. We maintain your app and continuously integrate new features according to your requirements.
Our product: SiDiary diabetes management software
SiDiary is a diabetes management software and a class 2a medical device with a CE mark. The product was developed by diabetics, i.e. software developers who are diabetics, diabetologists as counsellors and people with diabetes, for diabetics!
When developing the diabetes management software, care was taken to ensure that it permits
- Simple mobile and local recording of diabetes data,
- Quick and clear trend analyses,
- Systematic analysis for self-monitoring..
This gives users the opportunity to analyse weak points and optimise their values.
Diabetes patients find this direct feedback a great motivational boost and significantly improve their blood glucose values by keeping a digital diabetes diary, thus reducing the risk of secondary diseases.
Data from blood glucose meters are automatically synchronized across all devices used by the patient, providing seamless analysis. Currently, over 350 devices can be integrated.
Who is diabetes management software suitable for?
Diabetes management software is suitable for people with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, pregnant women, children and adolescents, and the visually impaired. Our own app SiDiary, for example, is suitable for all diabetics.
People with Type 1 diabetes require insulin and typically follow intensive conventional insulin therapy (ICT), which involves multiple blood glucose checks each day. The goal of ICT is to maintain normal blood sugar levels.
The continuous recording of measurements during ICT is an important tool for achieving the best possible blood sugar control and thus preventing dreaded long-term damage, such as vascular diseases or nerve disorders.
A diabetes app can record and track these measurements.
Type 2 diabetics are not necessarily insulin dependent. Sometimes therapy with just diet or tablets is enough. However, very few apps offer the option of administering tablets instead of insulin.
A diabetes management app can help patients log both medications and insulin doses.
Gestational diabetes occurs only during pregnancy, and it poses a serious risk for both mother and child due to elevated blood sugar levels. Therefore, gestational diabetes requires particularly precise control.
A diabetes app can help closely monitor blood sugar levels by evaluating current data with a trend evaluation.
Diabetes can also occur in children and adolescents. Diabetes is the most common metabolic disease in children and adolescents in Germany.
A diabetes app designed for smartphones can improve safety by integrating e-mail or SMS alerts, which notify parents if a child’s blood sugar levels cross a predefined threshold.
If the child measures high blood sugar while on the go, the parents can be notified and provide procedural instructions via e-mail or SMS.
In close collaboration with visually Impaired diabetics, we have developed a special user mode that allows them to make the best possible use of an app in conjunction with a screen reader (e.g. Cobra, Jaws).
